Zumba, I love you!

Last week I didn’t do any Zumba classes but I did workout at the gym so last night I went back and did my zumba class….it felt great! I got an AWESOME workout and was actually on the right foot and everything! I didn’t realize how much I missed it. Last week I was soooo tired every night so I didn’t go and just went to the gym right after work, I’m so glad my husband convinced me to go last night…thanks sweetie:)

The Doctors

So today was filled with 2 Dr.’s appt’s.  One for my mom and one for me.  I took today off work because my mom HAD to have someone drive and pick her up from her appt. or else they wouldn’t do the procedure….yep you read right procedure.  My mom had to have a colosocopy and I have to say I am so glad it is over and done with.  The best news, no cancer!!!!!  She’s not due back for another 10 years, woohooo!!!!!!  She just has to eat lots more fiber, don’t we all?

My Dr.’s appt. was later in the day and I have to say I LOVE this Dr.  He’s my new OBGYN and he has had experiences in high risk pregnancies, PCOS, etc.  The best part was when he was asking me who I was seeing in Phoenix and I told him my OBGYN’s name and he said that he knows him and actually interned with him while he was going to school to become a Dr…..I tell you God sure does look out for me and my family!  I was having trouble finding a good practice to go to in Yuma and now I’ve finally found one!!:)

I was suppose to go to Zumba class tonight and I didn’t even go last night either but I did run/walk after dinner and I feel so much better!!  Sometimes it can be hard to exercise, especially when you’ve had a long hard day and all you want to do is go lie in bed and watch mindless t.v. like Keeping up with the Kardashians opps I meant house-hunters! I’m just glad I did it! What seems to motivate you to exercise? Tonight it was my Husband, he wanted to go run so I told him to go and then when he got back I would go. We don’t have a jogger yet and can’t wait til we get one that way we can all go as a family especially since our 5 yr old is taking up running lately. Now I am sitting her enjoying a nice healthy chocolate strawberry smoothie and ready to have some cuddle time with the love of my life!

Met with my personal trainer!

So after a month of joining the gym or there- abouts I starting thinking about my weight loss goals and what I really wanted out of it.  One of them is to be fit and stay that way but I’m not so good about the strength part of it.  So I started looking into personal trainers and I found one!  I met with her today and love it and it’s not too bad on price and the very cool bonus is that there is no contract!!!  So for 4 sessions it’s $130 and she comes to my house and will also show me things I can do at my gym….I’m loving it! My first workout session will in 2 weeks:)

Goodbye spring break….hello work!

Today is the last day of my spring break, ugh!  Going into spring break I didn’t think it was going to be much, I mean Chris and I really didn’t have much planned.  The only thing was to AVOID the Yuma County Fair like the plague.  Chris has BAD allergies and so does Alexa so avoiding the fair was a must and the good news is that we avoided and the 5 year old didn’t ask about, woohoo mission accomplished!  My Mom and I sewed all week and did NO housework, it was awesome!  We decided to do NOTHING and enjoy it!  So here are my Top 10 favorite things I did on Spring Break:

10.  Waking up every morning to coffee and the sound of my kids playing

9.  Going to Joann fabric almost everyday for a project

8.  Watching my son paint his countless bird houses that we bought at Joann’s

7.  Making homemade food everynight

6.  Watching a movie everynight with the love of my life!:)

5.  Going to Zumba class ( to me this is awesome because really who wants to workout during spring break?!)

4.  Reading Bert and Ernie’s opposites about 5, 000 times- I can thank my MIL for this one, lol:)

3.  Making a wristlet, cape, and spy backpack for kiddo’s- the wristlet is for me!

2.  Going to movies to see “hop with my kids, my mom and the Bate Clan

and the #1 favorite thing I did on Spring Break 2011 was…………………………………………………………………………………………………..



I love my husband so much, he means the world to me.  He’s always there for me and the kids and does so much for us!!!!!

5. You wake up at 6am on your spring break to do pushups, weights and the ski machine

4. You take a Zumba class 3 nights a week even though you dance like a white girl!

5lbs lighter

I am 5 lbs lighter than last week…..YEESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!  I am so excited and it is just another motivator to keep going and loose all that extra weight that I have, lol.  So I was thinking this morning on my way to work( I have a 45 minute comute so I tend to think a lot during the drive….I don’t think my husband likes it so much though I usually think of things he can do around the house for me!) what motivates me.  Here is what I came up with:


1.  The clerk at my work.  She is always a reminder to eat healthier and make smart snack choices!

2.  The scale.  When I see the numbers going down instead of up it’s a motivator to keep doing what I am doing!

3.  My sister.  My sister and I are loosing weight together and it’s great to have an accountable partner in this weightloss journey.  We try to walk a mile once a week together.

4.  My dr.

5.  Zumba instructor’s.  They have the best attitude and are so enerjetic and positive!

6.  My husband.  For always telling me that I look beautiful even when I don’t feel it at times.


So what motivates you?  It doesn’t have to be weight loss maybe it’s to get that raise you’ve wanted or running your first race.  I’d love to hear!
