I need a date night…..badly!

Do you ever feel sometimes as if you haven’t had a real conversation with your significant other?  It’s hard when you both work and your kids require a lot of your undivided attention and not to mention getting the laundry done, dinner cooked and on the table.  Then, when you finally get the kids to bed( after many excuses why they can’t go to bed) you get in bed yourself and are super tired so you just go to sleep!  Gosh my list could go on and on.  So needless to say my hubby and I need a date night BADLY!!!!

My spring break is this upcoming week so I’m gonna see what I can do.  Any thoughts on what we should do?  I was thinking the movies, we haven’t done that in a LONG time!!

I was getting dressed this morning and a shirt that I bought 2 weeks ago was a little tight in the waist and now it’s super loose….ye haw!

5lbs lighter

I am 5 lbs lighter than last week…..YEESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!  I am so excited and it is just another motivator to keep going and loose all that extra weight that I have, lol.  So I was thinking this morning on my way to work( I have a 45 minute comute so I tend to think a lot during the drive….I don’t think my husband likes it so much though I usually think of things he can do around the house for me!) what motivates me.  Here is what I came up with:


1.  The clerk at my work.  She is always a reminder to eat healthier and make smart snack choices!

2.  The scale.  When I see the numbers going down instead of up it’s a motivator to keep doing what I am doing!

3.  My sister.  My sister and I are loosing weight together and it’s great to have an accountable partner in this weightloss journey.  We try to walk a mile once a week together.

4.  My dr.

5.  Zumba instructor’s.  They have the best attitude and are so enerjetic and positive!

6.  My husband.  For always telling me that I look beautiful even when I don’t feel it at times.


So what motivates you?  It doesn’t have to be weight loss maybe it’s to get that raise you’ve wanted or running your first race.  I’d love to hear!

Fruits and veggies oh my!

My Mom and I signed up for the produce co-op called You get 50% vegetables and 50% fruits and for $15 and you can add on bread, avocado’s, herbs for an additional fee. We added on the Italian package and got some mushrooms, onions and Italian herbs and spices. All of the items we got were locally grown and picked at a discounted rate! Bountifulbaskets is in most states I believe, if you haven’t tried you should……..we are hooked!

So this is what we got:
tangerines, about 12
apples, 4
mangoes, 3,
Bananas, 8
tomatoes, 3
cantaloupe, 1
asparagus, 1lb
purple onions, 6 large
Italian parsley

So on Tuesday night I went to the gym and I was deciding whether or not I should take the Zumba class that was about to start. Well, I decided to go for it! I LOVED IT!!!! Not only was it fun but you burn over 650 calories doing it….that is something I can get behind! So if you have ever thought about taking a Zumba class don’t hesitate and just DO IT!!!!! You can count on me at Zumba class every Tuesday and Wednesday night!

peanut butter protein shake

I made this today after I got so beat from taking my very 1st boxing class.



1 cup of vanilla soy milk

2 tbsp of creamy peanut butter

2 packets of splenda

2 tbsp of chocolate chip morsels


Blend together in blender and enjoy!  You may add ice if desired…I did!

I feel like gumby!

So I went to the gym today for the first time.  I got there and I was going to just go use the weight room and go on the treadmill but the owner told me I should try the boxing class and I was like what the heck!  OH….MY….GAWD!!!!  I have not worked out like that in 3 years or more!  It was great pushing myself but man I am tired!!!!!  I plan to go walking tonight after dinner so I’m  not sore in the morning now normally this would make me think twice about joining the gym but I know I need to do it so I am pushing through!!!!

On another note the hubby and I cleaned the kids room, with their help of course!  It looks awesome and it ONLY took us 90 minutes, hahaha!!!  I love getting things organized around the house:)

A new me!!

Hello!  This is my very first blog, woohooo!!  The goal of this blog is to write about my weightloss journey, being a mother of 2 kids under the age of 5 and a wife while working and finishing up my bachelors in special eduaction and elementary education.

I have a goal to loose 50 pounds with my sister by the end of September.  I would like to loose 30 more after that.  I hope to give other’s inspiration while doing it.  I have pre-diabetes, PCOS and suffer from depression so loosing weight is not only for my self esteem but for my health, my family and friends.
